FAQ

How do I use bone broth?

Bone broth is a delicious nutritious warm beverage that can provide a boost in the morning or promote relaxation in the evening.  It is also a wonderful nutrient-rich cooking base for making rice, quinoa, smoothies and soups, as well as for sautéing vegetables and making sauces.

How should bone broth be stored?

Our broths are delivered frozen. Keep frozen or consume within seven days of refrigeration.

How do I thaw bone broth?

If you pop a container of frozen bone broth into a bowl of warm water for about a minute, it will thaw enough to be removed from the container. Place frozen broth in microwave-safe container or pot and heat in microwave or on stove. Our packages are BPA-free and microwave-safe, but we don't recommending using plastic in microwaves when other materials are available. Refrigerate unused broth and consume within seven days.  Also, our bone broth typically thaws in the refrigerator in 24 hours.

How is your bone broth packaged?

Our broths and soups are cooled properly before being packaged in 30oz BPA-free containers and delivered frozen.

What is the quality of your ingredients?

We are proud to partner with local and regional farms that adhere to organic standards to offer 100% pasture-raised bone broths.

Our poultry is raised with no antibiotics, growth stimulants, added hormones, pesticides, preservatives, or animal by-products. They are fed an all natural, all-vegetable diet and provided fresh water that is regularly tested for purity. They are raised on small family farms, and traceable to the farms where they are grown. They are moved to open pasture at six weeks of age, where they live until maturity. They have a low-stress, humane environment with no over-crowding, so they mature comfortably and naturally at their own pace.

The beef we use are grass-fed and grass-finished, pasture-raised on a small family farm. No antibiotics, growth stimulants, added hormones, pesticides, preservatives, or animal by-products.

The vegetables, herbs and spices in our bone broths are organic.

Are your broths free from allergens such as nuts and gluten?

We clean our kitchen tirelessly and while the only known allergens in our kitchen are from the coconut milk and pasta we use in our soups, we can't assume the kitchen we use is allergen free.

What does bone broth taste like?

Our broth is different. We have worked hard to make sure of it! It's not a ramen or pho broth.  It's it's own thing. We've worked hard to develop flavors that just as wonderful to sip on as a hot beverage as they are to cook with.

Why does it become gelatinous when it is refrigerated?

Gelatin, collagen & protein is the difference between broth and bone broth. Only well-made, high-protein, high-collagen bone broths gel when cooled.  Our bone broths offer 20 grams of protein in each eight ounce cup! Researchers have found that gelatin improves digestion and joint health, and contains minerals in a form the body can easily absorb. We have sourced specific bones and tested our water-to-bone ratio to ensure that our bone broths gel beautifully when cooled.
